Published Date: September 12, 2024

On September 11, The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the National Unity Government is providing necessary emergency food relief to flood and conflict-affected displaced people in some towns, villages, and wards across Myanmar due to heavy rainfall. The food relief is being distributed using donations from people to people and funds from township humanitarian tax allocations.

Local humanitarian groups, township civilian protection and rescue teams, and village, district, and township civilian administration teams are collaborating to support and relocate the elderly, children, and displaced persons. The Ministry deeply appreciates the united efforts of humanitarian coordinators, volunteers, and donors from various townships who have helped ensure that emergency food supplies reach the flood and conflict-affected displaced people.

The Ministry is also publishing daily weather forecasts and recommendations for preparedness in case of special events through its Facebook page to keep the public informed.
